Beautiful cottage in a quiet village. Strange opening times of local pubs and shops not open Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Enjoyed our stay here !! Really handy help yourself dairy across the road with honesty box. Where you can find really good quality milk , orange juice and yoghurt.

Great place. Quality fixtures & fittings. Very comfortable beds. Home from home. The owners were most helpful.

We booked this barn for 6 of us stay in for a weekend in the Peaks. The barn is beautiful, and easily accommodated us all, with plenty of space around the whole place, each room being very large. Great Longstone is a lovely village, with two good pubs, and a shop. The White Lion, the closest pub, does good takeaway pizzas, if you happen to arrive at Shippon Barn late, and didn't fancy cooking. There are walks a-plenty nearby, from Monsal Head, or along the stunning River Derwent. I highly recommend this lodging.

A group of 7 of us stayed here in mid May. The hosts were helpful and friendly in the lead-up to our trip. The barn is very nicely fitted out and has plenty of space, including a large lounge and an equally big separate dining room. The kitchen has everything you'd expect and plenty of fridge space. There's a decent size garden with plenty of seating and a BBQ. The location is great - the village feels secluded and there are plenty of walking and cycling options direct from the barn, but if you want to go somewhere busier then Buxton and Bakewell are nearby. In the village itself a small village shop and the nearest pub are literally 1 minute from the front door, and there's another a 5 minute walk away. Definitely recommended.
